A look at our ongoing initiatives supporting smallholder farmers in Central Aceh through training programs, fair pricing agreements, and environmental stewardship in the Gayo Arabica growing region.

The Gayo Highlands of Central Aceh are home to some of the world's most extraordinary Arabica coffee. At elevations between 1,200 and 1,600 meters above sea level, smallholder farmers tend to their coffee trees with generations of knowledge and dedication. PT Solid Aroma Mandiri is proud to be a partner in protecting and developing this remarkable origin.

About the Partnership

The multi-year supply agreement covers a curated selection of our Arabica offerings — including Gayo Grade 1, Mandheling Grade 1, and Lintong Grade 1 — along with select Robusta lots for blending purposes. The Japanese partner, with over two decades of experience in specialty coffee roasting, was drawn to our rigorous quality control standards, consistent moisture management, and our ability to provide fully traceable lots from specific farming cooperatives in Aceh and North Sumatra.

Quality as the Foundation

Japanese buyers are among the most discerning in the world. The due diligence process for this partnership included multiple cupping sessions, farm visits facilitated by our team, defect analysis reports, and Q Grader evaluations. We are proud that our beans met — and in many cases exceeded — the expectations set during the evaluation process.

Looking Forward

This partnership opens up exciting collaborative opportunities, including co-developing limited micro-lot offerings for the Japanese market and exploring joint sustainability initiatives with the farmer cooperatives we work with in Aceh. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship that benefits both our companies and the Indonesian farmers at the heart of our supply chain.
